Kin Phea, director-general of the International Relations Institute at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the King’s concern over the political crisis in Myanmar reflects a focus on Cambodia, which wants to see Myanmar return to normalcy.
“If the political situation in Myanmar continues to face such challenges, it will reflect the disunity between countries in the region
and internal divisions, it is also an opportunity for some super powers to seek to divide ASEAN into several pieces.
“The King of Cambodia wants to see all ASEAN members unite and help solve common problems in the region. Cambodia has been through many years of war, so our King clearly understands the hardships of a war-torn country and the living conditions of its people,” Phea added.
