Kin Phea, director-general at the Royal Academy of Cambodia’s International Relations Institute said yesterday he supports any conversation between Mr Hun Sen and Zelenskyy to seek peace.
“The efforts shows both the Cambodian and Asean position in support of peace and peaceful negotiations. It also encourages Ukraine, as well as other stakeholders, to try to resolve the conflict peacefully and prevent the escalation of the conflict,” he said.
“Only peaceful negotiations can result in a solution. War cannot be ended by war,”
Phea said that any dialogue between Mr Hun Sen and Zelenskyy should not be a challenge to or damage the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Russia. “Cambodia can share some of its Win-Win policy in resolving the war, leading to the use of diplomatic mechanisms to negotiate an end to it,” he added.
