China and Russia Congratulate Samdech Techo Hun Sen on His Re-appointment

Mr. Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of the China’s People Republic and Mr. Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of Russian Federation, sent their respective sincere congratulatory letters to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen after he was re-elected as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

“I would like to extend my warm congratulations, on behalf of the Chinese government and in my own name, to Your Excellency on reassuming the position of the Prime Minister of the new Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia,” said the Chinese Premier in his congratulatory letter dated September 6, 2018.

Under the strong leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian people have made impressive development achievements in the great cause of national construction, he wrote, stressing that the Chinese side is deeply pleased to see that, and believes that Samdech Techo Hun Sen will continue to lead the Cambodian people to build a more prosperous and stronger country.

H.E. Li Keqiang continued that the recent years have witnessed frequent high-level exchanges, fruitful cooperation achievements and close multilateral coordination between China and Cambodia. The China-Cambodia relationship has achieved comprehensive and profound development, bringing tangible benefits to the two countries and two peoples.

“I have met and held talks with Your Excellency many times, and we have kept good working relationship and profound personal friendship,” he said. “Taking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations as an opportunity, I would like to work with Your Excellency to forge ahead to advance the establishment of a community of a shared future between China and Cambodia with strategic significance, making positive contribution to regional and global peace, stability and prosperity.”

Together with Chinese Prime Minister, Russian Prime Minister, Mr. Dmitry Medvedev, also sent his sincere congratulations to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on his reappointment as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

“On behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation and myself, I wish to convey your congratulations to you on the reappointment to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.” Mr. Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his message dated September 6, 2018.

“Russia and Cambodia have friendly and partner-like relations. Our bilateral trade is growing, and so is our economic, investment, research and technology cooperation. We are working together on large infrastructure and industrial projects. I am looking forward to maintaining our close ties to further strengthen Russian-Cambodian collaboration, and to expand our practical cooperation in various fields”, added Mr. Dmitry Medvedev.

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has received many congratulatory letters from different world leaders after the landslide victory of his Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) in the general elections on July 29, 2018, controlled all 125 parliamentary seats. The CPP took 4.8 million of 6.9 million votes

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his cabinet members won the vote of confidence from the National Assembly and took their oaths at the Royal Palace on September 6, 2018.
