Cambodian Commerce Minister Attends China International Import Expo in Shanghai

Phnom Penh, November 06, 2018 —

Minister of Commerce of Cambodia H.E. Pan Sorasak attended the inauguration ceremony of China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, China, yesterday, said the Ministry of Commerce in a news release.

The event was presided over by Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping with senior delegates from other countries in the region and the world in attendance.

In his address, H.E. Xi Jinping underlined China’s efforts to reduce more tariff rates for further trade facilitation. In 15 years, China is expected to import US$30 trillion worth of products from partner countries while services will reach US$10 trillion, he said.

Taking place on 300,000 square metres, CIIE attracts participants from 172 countries and international organisations. Ten Cambodia’s companies join the event with 136 square metres of national pavilion to promote potentials of investment, trade, tourism and culture.
