Kin Phea, director-general of the International Relations Institute at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said that a face-to-face meeting between the two leaders will build mutual trust and the two sides should engage in more discussions.
“In order to build trust and confidence among the nations, the United States should understand Cambodia’s culture, history and realities to avoid forcing its traditions or laws to force Cambodia to apply or put pressure on Cambodia because the political geography is different from each other,” Phea added.
